Natural Scrolling issue with touchpad and external mouse after sonomo update

I am not comfortable with touchpad so I usually use external mouse. My M1 macbook air came with Mac OS ventura everything was working fine in that,I only used it for 3 days. But after I updated to mac os Sonoma the natural scrolling behaviour for touchpad and mouse is exactly the same.previously I used touchpad without natural scrolling and mouse with natural scrolling.but after the update if I turn on natural scrolling for mouse it is also turning on natural scrolling for touchpad. It feels like the natural scrolling for mouse and touchpad toggles same field. It's really annoying.FYI I received 2 updates after the initial upgrade,it has not been fixed yet. I'm currently on Mac OS Sonoma 14.2.1.

Who exactly is the maker of this external Mouse ?

Using a Third Party External Mouse can be problematic as often times it requires Third Party Software from the Manufacturer to make it work

Also, sometimes their software is out dated or buggy or not compatible with macOS 14

Check with them for updates

The current version of Sonoma is now 14.3 released Jan 22, 2024

I know this will sound ridiculous, but it worked for me. I am including all steps even if they may not have done anything please reply if it works for you. I opened system preferences mouse and track pad and connected the cable to my Magic Mouse which you cannot use while cable is connected, apparently I was holding mouse upside down when doing this, I toggled natural scroll on both trackpad and mouse, I verified MacBook pro trackpad was working in right direction, then used the scroll on mouse, again, I was holding upside down, and thought it was working correctly, then put it down on table and toggled switches, verifying the scroll by finger, then removed cable and verified everything on track pads and finger scrolls before moving mouse, then realizing mouse was upside down, it shifted and now everything is working. now that everything is correct, natural scroll is still working for everything but does not change direction of scroll, so it does not go in the opposite direction, but if I move mouse right, pointer now goes right. I don't know why this worked and apple was on the phone when this happened, but apple had not given me any instructions at the time of this. Basically, plug in the Magic Mouse and toggle both track pad and mouse natural scroll back and forth and it should change. but verify everything is correct before removing cable.
