music opens empty and crashes

Music crashed when I was creating a playlist and now it crashes when I try to open it. It opens blank - no playlists - and then crashes. I have tried opening it in failsafe mode. I updated to Sonoma recently. I have a Macbook pro.

I’m dj:ing on Monday I would really need my playlists. Help!

Try holding down option when you launch Music, click the choose library option, and explicitly reselect the Music Library.musiclibrary file that you want it to open. You can also try holding both option+cmd at launch to open the app in its safe move which may sometimes help. If neither do can you restore the .musiclibrary from a backup? If all else fails create a new library and add your media.
