Mid 2010 mac mini will not boot when rebooted

I have recently installed a 1TB Samsung SSD and it refuses to reboot into macOS. I’ve freshly installed from OSX lion and updated to high sierra, all supported. I am going to try installing a firmware update and see what happens since I’m getting this every reboot. Though I can do a full shut down and it’ll boot right up. This problem doesn’t exist in Linux. Here is what it does in macOS during reboot:

Mac mini, macOS 12.7

The Samsung SSD is a poor choice for older Mac's that only have a SATA ll 3G drive controller.

What you need is a SATA ll 3G SSD or a SATA lll 6G SSD that is backwards compatible to 3G.

FWIW I've had good results with the PNY CS1311 and CS900 SSDs in older iMac's and Mac mini's.

Another very reliable option for older Mac's, is the 1TB OWC Mercury Electra 3G.
