iphone won't print to HP printer, even with HP Smart.

No matter what I try, it just doesn't find the printer. It just keeps saying not found.

Just now, I go to Photos, Then I go to ..., and no printer is listed.

I already installed HP Smart and the app and it shows my printer installed and Green dot to show it is ready to print. but it won't let me print. or i don't get print options.

But HP Print says printer is ready to print to.

What steps am I missing to print from my iPhone 13 to my HP Printer?

OK, I got it to work finally.

I used my Dad's new HP printer 2723e that has no led/lcd screen. I went through the direct driver, found the passcode with a two-button key combination, then I entered the code in. It accepted the keym but still no print options.

So, I figured it had to be a settings issues or rearranging menus on me, which I thought was the case in the first place.

After fiddling around for an hour, I found the print button was below the Share menu, I scrolled down and viola, the print button is now hidden below in more submenus.

I tested it out on my 8720 printer and it worked flawlessly. HP Smart has been removed long ago. now everything is back in order.

HP has a bazillion printers, many with similar names, and with differing details.

Which particular printer model is this?

Check first for the printer firmware version, if the particular printer has user-upgradable firmware. Update that.

If the printer offers AirPrint, that printer can be accessed without loading vendor drivers.

If the printer does not have AirPrint, then you will need to print via a vendor app on iPhone or iPad, or via vendor-provided drivers on macOS.

The section on page 29 (around firmware updates) that was applicable here. That seems to already be current, though. The embedded web server avoids having to deal with host drivers and settings, and also avoids dealing with the usually-tiny control panel on most printers.

The other potential issues here are around your printer IP network setup, and around your Wi-Fi router, Wi-Fi network and its related settings. Sometimes the printer network port needs to be reset. Sometimes the Wi-Fi router firmware has issues.

Last HP printer here was scrapped a few years ago, so I have nothing similar to look at.

Sorry, I forgot to mention I have the HP OfficeJet Pro 8720. It is listed as compatible in the AirPrint list.

I tried installing the firmware of the 8720 in Windows10, and it said it was the current version.

I am using my Iphone 13 (Updated) to use airprint. Unfortunately, it won't let me print.

My bad, I was using AirDrop by mistake, when I was trying print with my phone. So were is AirPrint located in my iPhone 13 (iOS 17.2.1)?

When I go to share, there is no Print options at all. It used to have a Print button when I clicked on "..." but now it brings up a whole new menu page. before it just popped up a couple of options.

My firmware on the printer "HP Network Configuration Page, shows,

Firmware Revision: WMP1CN2105AR

Page 29 just shows how to install driver in Windows. That part works fine.

My problem is AirPrint. I see the printer driver on the iPhone (DIRECT-60-HP OfficeJet Pro 8720), I log onto it, select passcode, it is accepted, There is is a checkmark next to driver and is listed under Wi-Wi, but I don't have printing options.

I just don't know what I'm missing?
