Powerbook G4 original owner

Hello. I have held on to my powerbook G4, I guess for lose to 20 years now. I was considering rebooting it to use it kind of like a typewriter. To be offline and yet be able to use a computer to write. I am trying to remove all distractions while I write and I thought this might be a good way. I have the cords and the books bit I do not seem to have the disks anymore. When I turn it on, I get a flashing folder with a question mark. Is there any advice on how I can get it up an running? Again for the sole purpose of being able to write.

Thanks for any advice.

Hi, you'll need the installation discs, else, another mac running a compatible os X and a firewire cable.

If you have none of these, you could look for second hand ones. If you are inclined to find some discs, let me know and we'll look into the details of it, because you might need specific CDs for your powerbook g4. You can run Tiger, and Leopard, your choice.

Still, you may try once to boot holding the Shift key.
