somona 14.2.1 when extracting extra folder is created

Just upgraded to Sonoma 14.2.1 on my Mac Mini. Since doing that (never happened before) when I extract a file, my folder is created and my files are in it but an extra folder is created (e.g. PhotoRoom (1).sb-4a3786c9-cIAOfE). When I try to look in it, delete it, move it or anything else, the message is that I don't have permission. I have tried to change permissions in Get Info but it won't let me make any changes.

I have tried restarting my machine numerous times and, still, cannot remove these extraneous files.

How can I prevent them being created or, failing that, get rid of them once they are created.
