iMac WiFi has no ip address. WiFi works on all other devices.

Mac worked well last night before I shut it down because of a storm. This morning there is no internet. Message says wifi does not have an IP address and cannot connect to the internet. Another Mac, iPads, and iPhones are connected with no problem.

iMac won't connect to internet via ethernet or Wi-Fi after power outage After a power outage, my buddy's newer (bought July 2023; M1 or M3 I'm not sure which) iMac (with Ethernet jack in Power Adapter) can't connect to the Internet. The Ethernet and WiFi adapters both successfully log in to the same router / network they've been using for years. Both adapters in System Settings > Network have the expected and valid IPs, subnets, and DNS servers. Multiple iPads, iPhones and laptops log in to this same WiFi router/network and find the Internet just fine - working great! Both the iMac's WiFi & Ethernet connections show green "Connected" indicators. But I cannot ping between the seemingly valid IP Addresses in Terminal. Opening Safari shows: no Internet connection is available. (Need to try a different browser; my buddy went to go buy a USB-C to Ethernet adapter for troubleshooting and a new Ethernet cable too.) Yes, we powered down everything multiple times. "Forgot" the network a couple times too. Need to try the WiFi network as a higher priority than the Ethernet one in System Settings (can I just drag them up & down?). Maybe try a PRAM reset - but that seems unlikely to fix it. Troubleshooting ideas anyone? [Re-Titled by Moderator]

Try restarting your router, your Mac, and any optional other network gear. Then try again.

On the Mac, in the System Settings﹥Wi-Fi﹥, does it list to be connecting to the intended SSID network name? Is the intended network name perhaps listed in the Other Networks list?
