Final Cut Pro for iPad Latest Version Crash and lost work

I have recently moved from Premiere Pro to Final Cut Pro for editing on iPad. Never had issues in the past 3 weeks i’ve used the program. I have spent a whole week editing a video that is due to be submitted to a client in less than 48hours, and then a few hours ago the whole system crashed and closed down off my screen. When I opened it back up again, and looked at my project i've been working on, all of my editing is gone. There are maybe 5 changes still on the timeline but they’re old, back to where I started.

If anyone has or knows a fix to this please let me know. I haven’t had an issue with saving projects or timeline edits before, and i’m desperately not wanting to pull an all nighter to get this back into shape.

i was asking for help/ a solution not criticism.

I understand that you don't want your mistakes to be pointed out and you want help, but please connect your failures to your next success. The people answering in this community must have experienced many failures just like you. I've also restarted a project from scratch many times.

This is on iPad, there is no option to click ‘save work’ and there is no backups folder in my files, so how exactly am i supposed to save the work into the program with full trust that i wont loose it.

The fact that FCP does not have a save option is the same for all users. If you know the conditions before using the product, you should take precautions yourself.

1. Make a copy of your library

2. Create a duplicate of a project and save it in a separate event. I often duplicate projects as a save feature while editing. This habit has saved me from crashes many times.

It is your sole responsibility to back up your data. It's not anyone's fault, it's not the machine's fault. The only person in the world who can protect your data is yourself.

Please resume editing from the latest backup.

Lost data cannot be recovered. If you saved it with Time Machine, you can go back to the latest date and time.

Just because there have been no problems in the past, there is no guarantee that there will be no problems in the future. You should always take measures to be able to resume operations even if you lose data at any time. Please realize that it was your fault for not dealing with it due to your naiveté and take advantage of it in the future.

I never had these issues with premier pro but i changed to final cut pro for the wider range of features. If you’re not going to add something helpful then I ask that you don’t add anything at all.
