Trackpac 2 finger tap is too sensitive

I am playing a game on my MacBook Pro, Sonoma 14.2.1 and I want to either single click or richt click. I want to use my 2-finger tap to act as a "right-click" on my trackpad but if I don't apply both fingers instantly I screw up the game and I have to start up all over again. Is there some way to set the sensitivity for my 2-finger tap so that there is a delay so that both of my fingers are considered a right click when they both eventually hit the pad. Filing my fingertips is not an option.

There is no trackpad setting to compensate for the delayed contact of the second fingertip. You'll just have to practice to find the sweet spot of the middle finger bend that positions the tip next to the index fingertip (assuming you use index+middle finger).

As an option, you could set the trackpad to respond to a Click in Bottom Left or Right Corner as the secondary click. You'll find that in Trackpad settings.
