reset keyboard to default

I have the same issue. I tried to add in a foreign keyboard, which caused problems accessing U.S. keys, so I deleted the foreign keyboard but the system has not reset to the old keyboard. I tried rebooting but that caused problems because my password keystrokes were not recognized. I managed to get back in but cannot find certain symbols.

What foreign keyboard did you add?

Whst are the symbols you cannot find?

What do you see on the list in system settings /. Keyboard / text input / edit / input sources ?
