Keyboard is barely 1 month old, but it skips letters I've pressed and my fingers get fatigued quickly trying to type at normal speed 70 wpm. I've restarted the Mac and reconnected the keyboard and no change.

If you're having hardware issues, I'd suggest you have Apple take a look at the keyboard:

If keys aren't working or are hard to press, that suggests to me that there is something stuck under them.
My MBA is about a year old and has one of the nicest keyboards I've used in a while.
New Apple keyboard is really hard to press!
