McAfee subscription scam?

Sometimes, when I open a website, I get a screen with the progress bar that says McAfee is searching my iPhone. I also got a McAfee screen telling me my subscription to it expired when I logged into apple.com. I find this very intrusive, and it feels like a scam. Has anyone experienced this?

This is definitely a scam. We ALL get stuff like this and there’s little you can do about it except run a malware detection scan to see if you accidentally installed something you shouldn’t have. It’s easy to do.
