Just realized my Apple Watch Series 7 still had AppleCare. Cracked screen. Screens are not repaired, so watch will be replaced for $69.
Started process via chat and asked to agree to loss of Oxygen sensor.
I assume replacement will be another series 7. Is Apple actually going to take a watch made years ago and disable oxygen?

talked to a supervisor at AppleCare. She cannot (and says no one else public facing at Apple!) can confirm whether or not a replacement series 7 watch will have oxygen feature.

The legal issues regarding the O2 function ONLY affect series 9 and Ultra 2 watches sold on or after 1/18/2024. Your series 7 is not in any way affected by the legal issues and your replacement watch will not be affected either. There is so much disinformation floating around for users to be confused by.
I wish it were so, but my warrantied series 7 is a year and a half old and its replacement will not be sent with a functioning oximeter.
I’m in the same boat - got the series 7 because of the oxygen sensor. After the watch stopped recording workouts, AppleCare + said it’d be replaced, but would only send me a series 7 with the oxygen sensor disabled.
Their warranty replacement policy of "like for like" is no longer, I guess. Really, really frustrated.
I did not agree, so replacement on hold while I decide how important oxygen is to me. Also, https://9to5mac.com/2023/12/21/apple-watch-repairs-ban/ says repairs under warranty will not lose oxygen.
Well, when you actually receive the replacement let us know if what you were told was correct. I think you were given incorrect information.
