Any Use for iPod Classic, 5th generation?

Okay, I understand now that Apple has abandoned the iPod Classic and it no long syncs with anything. While it let me delete the old music that I had just gotten all the way through, I can't figure out if there's any way to still add music to the 5th generation iPod Classic from anything? I tried copying and pasting but that did not work as the iPod shown in my sidebar of Finder is useless. When I had music on it, finder showed me its contents, but now that it's empty, all it shows me are two alternatives--"check for update" or "restore iPod". The first instantly returns to that screen and says my iPod is up to date and the latter stays in "restore" mode for hours and hours with no end. Is there any way I can still add music to my iPod Classic, 5th generation, or is it simply a paperweight now? I'm using the latest MacBook Pro with the latest OS and the M3 chip.

The iPod Classic can be synchronised with Finder.

If the iPod is not responding and when you connect it to Finder there is an option to Restore the iPDU, I would use that. If the first attempt was unsuccessful, try again. Once you remedy that issue, you should be able to add music to the iPod via Finder, which works in much the same way as iTunes.
