Spam Calendar Invite Won't Go Away

I was recently on vacation and, out of nowhere, received a SPAM calendar event (no invite). I've declined the event, but can't unsubscribe. There is an unsubscribe link in the invite, but it's obviously spam, so not worth clicking. I've narrowed it down to my work Microsoft account, have deleted it, however the event still keeps showing up after a second or two after being declined. I've searched my work email (to see if I can delete it in the SPAM folder, etc.) but nothing shows anywhere.

The invite doesn't show up on my work laptop or anywhere else, just my iPhone iCal. If I delete or turn off the calendar, the event goes away, but so does all of my work stuff too.

I've tried/searched other posts about it, but they are either not relevant, offer solutions that don't exist (there is no "unsubscribe" on the iCal app), or are outdated. I don't have this issue on my iPad, work iMac or other devices, it's only on my iPhone (so far).

Any tips?

The struggle I still have is that I can hide my MS Exchange calendar and, sure it goes away, but then so does the rest of my calendar as well. I've tried to search for whoever sent it, only it's nowhere to be found in my Outlook (not spam, junk, etc.) The only source I've been able to find about it was by de-selecting the calendar.

I did take a look and you're right, Microsoft is flooded with these and their only workaround is to create a rule to block them, which doesn't work since a lot of the events showing up aren't even emails. My fear by clicking "decline" is that it only validates my email address. It's really annoying that this is even a thing... any tips to help get rid of it while being able to keep my work calendar on my iCal would be great.

At this time and for the past several months, there has not been a useful solution other than to stop using it. In your case, that is not possible since you need to use the Exchange calendar, where others had just had the calendar option turned on in their Mail settings, but never actually needed it.

Some people claim it comes from junk email and others claim they had not received any junk mail to cause it. Even if you could come up with a mail filter that would work, it does not seem to stop the Spam. Nobody knows if there is a breach in Microsoft servers or if they are even actively trying to fix the problem, since there has been little said about it from Microsoft.

Sorry, but I do not have the answer. If you come across something that works, please include it here as there are many others that would benefit from a solution.
