Why is my AirPods transparency mode glitching?

AirPod Pro 1. Transparency randomly toggles itself on and off (mostly off). I am using Conversation Boost, not Live Listen. Otherwise Airpods work great. How do I fix this?

Why do my AirPods Pro automatically switch to Transparency mode? my airpod pros have recently started switching automatically to transparency mode, and i cannot turn it off. when i try to do so, i hear three quick beeps and the headphones return to transparency mode/ANC mode. why can’t i turn either mode off? i’ve tried resetting the airpods, forgetting the device, etc. which works for about 5 minutes, but then the transparency mode notification beeps and i can’t turn it off. Airpods Pro 2nd Gen Transparency mode issues with the new iOS 17.2 After the latest update iOS 17.2, the transparency mode is disconnecting in these situations: A) Randomly 20 times per day B) A few steps away from the iPhone C) After charging D) After receiving calls E) Being silent for a while I have to open settings and connect it again. Before the update, iOS 17.1 worked perfectly. I spoke to Apple support, they said I am not the only one with this issue and they ran System Diagnostic. Did anyone find a solution?

Disabling Automatic Ear Detection helped.

Update: Transparency and Noise cancellation are totally inoperative. Factory reset did not help. Noise controls are set correctly. I get the toggle chimes, but still doesn’t work. Streaming does work. Thoughts?
