iPhone Xs has duplicate photos with E in front of number and saving .AAE files when no edits have been made
Hi. I noticed back in December that my iphone Xs started having duplicate copies of the same photo (no filters are set and no edits made). It has the original, two AAE files and one that has an E in the title.
for example:
one IMG_5645.jpg, size 1,769 kb
two IMG_5645.aae, both size 1kb (sometimes more than 2 aae files)
one IMG_E5645.jpg - size 1,372 kb
After I delete the two aae files and the one with the E in the title, they're back after I reconnect my phone.
I connect my iphone to my pc (Windows 10) and go thru the internal folders via File Explorer to download my photos. However at some point the Windows Photos app started automatically trying to download them (with an error) each time and I do not wish to use Photos to download my iphone pics but cannot find a way to make that stop either. I'm not sure if it's contributing to the issue or not. I do not use iCloud or another photo app on my iphone.
Why is this happening and how do I stop it? It's maxing out my phone all the time. Thank you in advance!
