Update keyboard to default to $ rather than £

Hi,

I have an iPhone 15 pro on iOS 17.3 and my keyboard is set to English (Australia). I’d like to change the default option on the keyboard to $ however it is currently set to £. Is there a way to do this?

Thank you 🙂

Here's how you can update the keyboard to default to $:

Changing Default Currency Symbol on iPhone Keyboard:

1. Access Keyboard Settings:

   - Go to your iPhone's Settings app and navigate to

General

>

Keyboard

.

2. Add Additional Keyboards:

   - Under the Keyboards section, tap on

Keyboards

and then select

Add New Keyboard

. Add the United States English (or any English option that uses $ as the default currency symbol).

3. Set Default Keyboard:

   - Once the new keyboard is added, go back to the Keyboards section. Press and hold on the three horizontal lines next to the keyboard languages to rearrange the order. Place the desired keyboard with $ as the default currency at the top of the list.

4. Switch Between Keyboards:

   - While typing, you can switch between keyboards by tapping the "Globe" icon next to the space bar until you reach the keyboard with $ as the currency symbol.

5. Configure Keyboard Settings:

   - In some cases, specific keyboards may have settings to customize symbols or layouts. Explore the keyboard settings for further customization options.

6. Restart Keyboard:

   - If the changes don't take effect immediately, try restarting your iPhone to refresh the keyboard settings.

By following these steps, you should be able to adjust the default currency symbol on your iPhone keyboard to $.
