Apple Pencil 2 with the 12.9 inch iPad Pro (2018)

Are these compatible? I've had the iPad pro 12.9 inch (2018) for a few years now and I believe it would be much more useful to me if i had the apple pencil to go with it, however i didn't know if they were compatible.

I checked the compatibility website and i saw that the apple pencil 2 supports 3rd and 4th generation iPad pros, and i believe I have a 2nd generation.

Any and all help would be appreciated.
