What is Home & Lock Screen ?

Good day,

”Home and Lock Screen” has suddenly showed up as the number two usage of my battery power. I have no idea what this nor have I been able to find a clear explanation of this nor why it is (whatever it is)is draining my battery.

  • I have NO widgets
  • I have “background refresh” turned off for ALL apps.
  • I have NO open Safari windows

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

TIA,

James

If you have the screen on a lot or are navigating the iPhone, the service would then be active and using battery. Seems logical to me.

Home Screen and Lock Screen would normally be among the higher usage items. Mine is at 8% and is number 3.

What percentage of power is it using? Anything below 10% would be considered normal.

There is of course the possibility it somehow has glitched and is doing something it should be. You can try restarting your iPhone and se if that clears the battery usage form the Home Screen and Lock Screen.
