2017 iMac won't boot

iMac Core i5 27" (5K, Mid-2017) - unsure of processor as can't boot

Hi all,

I've recently taken ownership of the above non-booting iMac as a freebie from my place of work.

Nothing happens when I try to switch it on except the fans power on low and I can get power from the USB-C.

Other times it'll power up with the fans on super fast and no power from the USB-C but, the screen always remains black and I never get the start-up chime.

Nor is there every any power from the other USB ports so connecting a keyboard and trying the various suggested fixes online won't work; resetting PRAM/NVRAM, booting into Recovery etc.

If anyone's able to shed any light on what I might be able to do to get it to boot or, not waste any more time on it if it's bricked, that would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance.
