Automatically Open Downloads on Chrome

Hi guys,

I recently switched devices and for invoice printing etc., it's easier to have downloads automatically open in preview on my MacBook Air 2020. I had this working on my older Macbook Air for years, but I cannot for the life of me find the setting for PDF Downloads (Via Chrome) to automatically open in preview.

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 12.7

This was my problem too. Very frustrating. I already had the ‘open pdf folders automatically’ highlighted as stated in other blogs but this did nothing. Further snooping, and someone suggested to turn off how downloads are stored, and that fixed it!

Solution:

open chrome browser

press 3 dots … (top right corner)

settings

downloads

turn off ‘Ask where to save each file before downloading’

Hope that fixed your issues.

Bea
