Using iPhone as a signature pad for my MacBook Pro

How do i use my iphone for signatures on my macbook pro? A while back while using excel, i can't remember what i pressed in the tool bar (to insert/add a signature) and my iPhone all of a sudden turned on and into a signature pad. Totally caught me off guard. I would like to be able to use that feature again. Thanks

signatures work this way only with PDF files. Open a PDF in Preview, go to Tools, Annotate, Signature, Manage Signatures

Then Create Signature, pick iPhone or iPad, then select your device

Then sign on your device, and tap Done

It only works, when you use the same Apple ID on both devices, and when you are in the same WiFi
