I paid the subscription for the Airbrush App until Nov 2024. They now want me to pay again and say I don’t have premium.

The Airbrush App deleted my Premium account that doesn’t expire until November.

Same thing has happened to me. I’ve had airbrush for awhile with no issues. Until tonight, I got on the app and noticed it was saying that I didn’t have premium. But it clearly says in the App Store that I’m subscribed to it. My yearly subscription wasn’t supposed to expire until this July 2024. I tried deleting the app and reinstalling it, but that didn’t work for me unfortunately. I got fed up with it and just ended up deleting the whole app and unsubscribing all together. I guess alot of people are having this problem too, just stupid

My premium subscription was working fine until I updated the app to the latest version. Was that what triggered it for others here as well? Wondering if people can specify what version of the app they are on.

I am also curious to know what happens when people try to go and “Restore Purchase” under Settings or click on “Already Subscribed” on the advertisement pop up.

A lot of people have reported (commented) on the company’s Instagram account, and it seems to be a problem ever since one of the app updates from a few weeks ago.

Like many others, they are fed up with the lack of responses from the company. I am looking into a possible solution myself and will post back.

This happened to me too. I have reached out three times to the developer and even left a review stating the issue. They had not responded and it’s three days of paying for a subscription that I can no longer use. I really want this fixed and see that others have made comments on the Airbrush facebook posts about it but no comments back from the developer at all.

I have come up with the solution.

Issue:

Premium users no longer have premium features and cannot restore their premium subscription. Reinstalling with the latest version 6.2.1 has no effect.

Root Cause:

This is due to a recent update of AirBrush (appears to be since version 6.1.0). As a result, users who have updated AirBrush, are experiencing issues with their subscription. This was a surprise as most iPhone and Android have automatic App Updates turned on by default.

Disclaimers:

The solution may or may not work for you and has not been tested on all IOS/Android operating systems and/or phones. While the solution for iPhone is using actual source installation files from the Apple App Store, the solution for Android require installation of an APK file not from Google Play Store, but from a reputable and trusted APK site. Installation of this solution is at your own risk.

Solution Overview:

The solution is to rollback the app to an older version of AirBrush. While it may be possible to rollback to an earlier 5.X version, some have seen issues with restoring subscriptions on 5.X. However, version 6.0.0 seems to be stable and is able to restore subscriptions. See below solution for iPhone and further below for Android.

Solution for iPhone:

First, download an older version of AirBrush from Apple App Store. This will be a single ".IPA" file that you will save on your computer and will be used to manually install onto your iPhone. Downloading an older version of an App is a bit of a complicated process using a combination of iTunes and a web proxy monitor that allows you to modify your request to the Apple App Store. I have done this step to save everyone the trouble and made version 6.0.0 available here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1DGSrvS9fG-FnkZuTOIOEW6GAQ9bcsfXv/view?usp=drive_link

First delete the AirBrush app from your iPhone.

Next you will need to download Imazing, which is a device management software, here: https://imazing.com/download

This software is what we will use to install the IPA file onto your iPhone. You do not need to purchase the license for this application as the trial version is sufficient for what we need to do. Install the Imazing application and launch. Once launched, connect your iPhone via cable or wifi.

Now select "Manage Apps" on the right side.

Next, click on the dropdown arrow button at the bottom right (above the Done button) and select "Install .IPA file"

Navigate and select your saved IPA file and click Open.

AirBrush should now start installing onto your iPhone.

After installation is completed, you should be able to see AirBrush in your list of apps. Confirm the version number is 6.0.0

Now open AirBrush on your iPhone and ignore / close any prompts asking you to purchase a subscription. You should be prompted with the login page (introduced with v6.0.0). If you do not get this prompt or missed this prompt, simply go into settings and there should be an option to log in. Be sure to "Accept" the Terms of Service at the bottom.

Enter your mobile phone number to get a SMS code, enter the received SMS code and click Continue.

After successful login, go to Settings and click Restore Purchases.

Your subscription should now be restored, using the older stable version 6.0.0 of AirBrush.

Next, MAKE SURE to turn off automatic update under iPhone Settings > App Store.

I have 20 plus emails sent to AirBrush. It’s been my favorite digital tools app to restore photos since 2018. I renewed in October. So I’m paid up through Oct of 24. Nothing is working. The last email today stated they know about the problem, that it’s many customers. This is beyond frustrating. If we get a refund and start over, it’s going to be more expensive. I’ve never had this problem with such poor communications from any app.

Same thing has happened to me! Says I have no subscription even though my plan isn’t due for renewal for 3 months! I’ve reported the app as a scam to Apple and explained the situation and contacted the developer although I don’t expect a response. I uninstalled and reinstalled the app, cleared cache and restored purchases which I was then shown a pop up saying no purchase restored even though I have an active subscription. I suggest everyone report as a scam because they can’t take everyone’s money who prepaid and then demand more.

i’ll wait until the next app update or developer response, whichever comes first and then if I hear nothing I’ll request a pro-data refund from Apple. So frustrating, I love this app.

Same happened to me!!

I have had the app for yearsss and this new update did this showing me as not premium even if I have my subscription until December 2024!

I tried to contact them, they told me to delete the app and reset my subscription but it didn't work. And now even if I try to pay for a new subscription the price is waaay expensiver!!! Not happy about it!

Anyone had any luck on that?

What an attitude, we pay for a subscription through Apple and they’re not giving any help, this is probably affecting more customers than are reporting this on here, they should give us a refund, Airbrush is clearly ripping people off.

No attitude at all. I am a user here, just like EVERY other person is here. We are not Apple. Apple doesn't participate here. And I was being helpful to let this user know that that yes, they may have purchased an App from the App Store, but the money went to the app developer. Apple doesn't own the app. Apple can't do anything to fix whatever the issue is with the app. So everyone who has an issue with the app needs to complain to the app developer. It's that simple.

I’m paying through the Apple Subscription but I still need to take it up with the Developer who isn’t returning anyone’s messages?

Yes, you need to take it up with them. Apple doesn't own this app. They just host the app on their App Store and while you may have paid through the App Store, you bought the app from the developer. That's just how it works.

I paid the subscription for the Airbrush App until Nov 2024. They now want me to pay again and say I don’t have premium.
