Video Messages On iMessage Delete After T… - Apple Community

I do not see “Settings > Messages > and toggle Audio Messages and Video

Messages ”

I only have “Settings > Messages > and toggle Audio Messages”

why?

This person claims that the sender, not the recipient, sets the expiration time for messages. If someone sends you a message with an attachment (audio message ?) set to expire in two minutes, it will follow that timeframe, and your own expiration settings won't influence it. However, based on my testing, it appears that the my own expiration setting does impact both the audio messages I send and receive.

Why?
