How to send an .mp3 from Library

I want to send an original .mp3 to a folk-DJ. It is on an original album (i.e., I wrote, recorded, released, and licensed it) and I found it in my iTunes library. But when I click "share" and then "e-mail," only the link to the song shows up in the e-mail. This DJ needs an actual .mp3 file so he can play it on his show, not just listen to it himself. How can I do this--or do I need to hook up a SuperDrive and rip it from the physical CD to my MacBook Pro?

You would think so, right? But Apple will not let you own a physical copy of a purchased song even though you paid for it (song downloads are no longer possible, just the right to play songs you've purchased. You can't pass them on the way you can hand over a CD, but instead only send a link so others can listen but they can't do anything else with them). I'm an ASCAP singer-songwriter and Recording Academy member myself, but this is going too far. AppleMusic won't let me send a DJ the actual song to save and use in his show--even though I own 100% of the publishing, mechanical and performance rights to it. I'm furious at Apple for killing iTunes in favor of this streaming fad. People should be able to do what they want with music they bought and own--especially if THEY hold the copyright to it to begin with.

What's even more infuriating is that MY OWN SONGS (which I wrote, performed & recorded) and painstakingly ripped from my own CDs used to be on my hard drive but have now disappeared so that not only others but I myself must go online and stream them!

Sandra,

Your information about purchased tracks is incorrect, and in any event is not relevant to your personally recorded music.

Find the MP3 on your hard drive and send it as an email attachment. You do not need Apple Music for this. If for some reason it is not on your hard drive, get a copy from your backup, or as javaliga suggests, re-rip from your CD.

Please keep good backups of your personally recorded music. Nobody else in the world will have a backup copy of your music.
