Apple ID recovery process.

I bought a new iPhone. Had no difficulty moving everything over to my primary AppleID. That is a family AppleID with shared series and email. But I have a second AppleID that is just used for my personal email. I don't know that password. I have twice gone through the 'account recovery' process where they say they will phone or text at a certain time. I get the confirmation text to that recovery phone number. But there is no phone call or text at the time that they claim they will call. Is there any way to get an actual person to help me?

Account recovery is an automated process only, all an Apple advisor can do is walk you thru starting it again.

Account recovery can auto cancel or be delayed, according to Apple: How to use account recovery when you can’t reset your Apple ID password - Apple Support

  • If you submitted your account recovery request with iforgot.apple.com through your device's browser, you should avoid using that device during this period. Using that device might cancel account recovery.
  • To avoid delays, turn off other devices that are signed in with your Apple ID until account recovery is complete.

Basic rule of thumb is don't do anything that may be seen as you not needing account recovery anymore. Don't update apps, do not buy/download apps, music, podcast, etc., do attempt to sign in, don't turn on/off FaceTime or Messages, just don't use your Apple ID in any way until the recovery is done.
