How to leave family sharing

My son, who has passed away, was the organizer of our family plan. How do I remove myself and start a new one?

How to remove a deceased organizer from Apple Music Family plan? I'm really hoping someone can help me with this issue!! My husband recently passed away. He was the organizer on our Apple Family Plan. I need to cancel his cell phone service but the only thing that is holding me back is his role as the "Organizer!" I have all access to his account/phone, etc. I know I need to login on his phone and remove him from the family sharing plan, but this will disband all of us. I know I need to create a new family plan on my phone for me and my three boys. Here is my question: Will we lose all of our downloaded music, etc??? We've been part of this plan since 2017 and we will all freak out if we lose all of our music, etc. Please help?! TIA [Re-Titled by Moderator]

Hi farrah142

I see you have an iPhone - you can leave family sharing by following Apple's instructions in Leave or remove a member from a Family Sharing group on iPhone

Then you can set up your new group. See Set up Family Sharing - Apple Support.

Note that you can't add members to your new group until they have left the current group.
