Couldn't communicate with a helper application

When I run a shortcut to find a note in the Notes app, I get the message “Couldn't communicate with a helper application.”

I deleted Notes and reloaded it. I removed the shortcut and wrote it again. Nothing helps.

Notes app blank, no notes/folders, new notes not saving My Notes app is completely blank, not displaying any notes nor folders. When I try to create a new note, it doesn't save either. Anybody knows what's up with this?

Notes app crashes on MacBook Air Notes crashes on my MacBook Air after upgrading to Sequoia 15.3.2. Notes works fine on my iPhone 12 with iOS 18.3.2. I tried the solution of trashing Notes in an effort to reinstall the app, but I can't get the app in the trash. I control-click on the app and nothing happens at first--no contextual menu. When I control-click a second time it tries to open the Notes app and fails.
