Message recurring in Microsoft Word

Since a few days ago, every time I close Microsoft Word, this message appears:

I am told this is due to an unwanted macro function.

Can I replace the Word app folder with an earlier folder from Time Machine?

I also have MS 365 installed and when I save a word document, 4 additional file folders are created with the exact name and then a bunch of what seems like random letters after docx. Unreadable text on Microsoft Word I have received a number of files that won't open.Each file name reads like this - "Word found unreadable content in "~$estioning Template.docx"." I have tried everything suggested with no success. What does the "~$" mean at the beginning of the file name? And does anyone have any suggestions on how to open these files, as I need them for work.
