IPad 9th generation ios 16.6- trying to recover deleted text. Apple website says click Edit (while in messages) then click restore deleted messages. Our iPad has all the other options except "Restore deleted messages"? Anyone able to help?

You Show Recently Deleted option will only be visible within the action menu if there are messages that can be recovered.
If not visible, there are no messages that can be locally recovered by your iPad/iPhone.
Does this part of the instructions apply?
If you previously turned Message Filtering on, the Edit button doesn't appear. Instead, tap Filters on the conversations page.

Where on the Apple website are you seeing that? Can you post a link to that page?

No this part doesn't. The Edit button is there. Just when I click on it, the Restore Deleted Messages option isn't there.
