Transferring music from iphone to itunes

I'm following the steps to transfer purchased music from my iphone to my itunes library and a quick message at the top of the screen says it's preparing to sync, but then I can't tell if it's doing anything. I have it set to show the status bar at the bottom of the screen but it's not doing anything. How do I know if it's working?

Windows, Windows 10

Hello, my name is Valentin, I hope this can help you:

Transferring purchased music from your iPhone to your iTunes library involves syncing your device with iTunes. Here are the steps to transfer purchased music:

----> For Windows:

1. **Connect your iPhone to your computer:**

- Use a USB cable to connect your iPhone to your computer.

2. **Open iTunes:**

- Launch iTunes on your computer. If you don't have iTunes installed, download and install it from the official Apple website.

3. **Authorize Your Computer:**

- In iTunes, go to "Account" and select "Authorize This Computer." Enter your Apple ID and password to authorize your computer if prompted.

4. **Sync Your iPhone:**

- Select your iPhone icon in the top left corner of iTunes. If you don't see the sidebar, go to "View" and select "Show Sidebar."

- Under the "Summary" tab, check the option "Sync with this iPhone over Wi-Fi" if you want to sync wirelessly in the future.

- Click on "Sync" to start the synchronization process. This will transfer your purchased music to your iTunes library.

5. **Transfer Purchased Music Manually (Optional):**

- If the automatic sync doesn't transfer your purchased music, you can manually transfer it by going to the "File" menu, selecting "Devices," and choosing "Transfer Purchases from [Your iPhone]."

----> For Mac:

1. **Connect your iPhone to your Mac:**

- Use a USB cable to connect your iPhone to your Mac.

2. **Open Finder:**

- On macOS Catalina and later, iTunes has been replaced by Finder. Open Finder on your Mac.

3. **Authorize Your Mac:**

- If prompted, authorize your Mac by entering your Apple ID and password.

4. **Select Your iPhone:**

- In Finder, you should see your iPhone listed in the left sidebar under "Locations." Click on your iPhone.

5. **Sync Your iPhone:**

- Under the "General" tab, check the option for "Sync with this iPhone over Wi-Fi" if you want to sync wirelessly in the future.

- Click on "Sync" to start the synchronization process. This will transfer your purchased music to your iTunes library.

6. **Transfer Purchased Music Manually (Optional):**

- If the automatic sync doesn't transfer your purchased music, you can manually transfer it by going to the "File" menu, selecting "Devices," and choosing "Transfer Purchases from [Your iPhone]."

Keep in mind that iTunes may no longer be the default method for syncing and managing media with iOS devices in newer operating systems. Depending on your macOS version, you might use Finder for syncing instead.
