How to pair iPad Pro to 2018 Mac Mini to screen capture Procreate

I've been having some issues pairing my iPad Pro to my mac mini, at least in a way where instead of using my ipad as an extended screen as most troubleshooting guides outline, I want my mac mini to display what is on my ipad, so that I can use OBS to stream Procreate for Twitch. Closest I got was using Sidecar on my ipad until I realized that Sidecar pauses so I can use Procreate, rendering the screen capture blank. I've read about apps where you can make this happen for PCs, but apparently it's just supposed to work for Macs.

Oddly enough, I seem to be able to get this to work the way I want to if I use my Macbook Pro, but then it makes OBS stop, and I'd have to get a secondary monitor to manage OBS anyway. Is there some setup to get this to work well?
