Rearranged folders now have descriptors on side How to undo??

Need some help Just spent the evening cleaning up and rearranging the folders on my imac When finished for some reason the desktop rearranged itself and put the folder descriptors on the right side of the folders completely destroying the flow and logic

How to undo this mess Thanks
