macbook air shutdown or sleep?

I am a student who uses MacBook air m1 almost every day and i never shutdown my laptop, always close the screen and open it when using , is it good practice? when should I shut it down, the reason I'm worried is my battery health is at 93% after 10 months, sometimes it makes me think that not shutting it down is the reason of battery drain.pls, suggest a good practice for my daily usage.

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 14.3

It's normally not a problem to close the lid on your Mac in between uses. That's pretty much what I do most of the time. I reboot about once a week or so, though. I leave mine plugged in 99% of the time, as Apple's battery health management does a wonderful job of prolonging battery life.

Just curious, though, if you have any anti-virus, Mac "Cleaner", Mac "Optimizer", or VPN software installed on your Mac? These just aren't needed on Macs, and most often create more issues than they prevent. (One exception is VPN software, as some corporate servers require a VPN connection). I ask this because those applications are running all the time, and can put added load on your battery.
