Airport and wireless cards

I have a G4 early 2008, which did not come with a wireless card. Apparently, Apple no long sells wireless cards for my computer. I am about to purchase a 11g PCI Card via a third party to deal with the issue. Did my computer come with the Airport software pre-installed? In other words, if I get the card, will I be able to use an Airport connection?
