My report, please read if I can help me with my problem
  • SIP disabled - There is now no way to know what system files have been edited or removed. The computer should not be left with SIP disabled for any period of time.
  • CleanMyMac is a major problem and damage may already have been done with SIP disabled.
  • Sensei is an addition cleaner/optimizer that should be no where near your computer
  • MacPaw Hider contains a login item related to CleanMyMac
  • AdGuard and Little Snitch have never played well together. When one issue is fixed another appears. I would remove both. While this article was for Big Sur, not all the problems have been resolved. https://adguard.com/kb/adguard-for-mac/solving-problems/big-sur-issues/
  • CleatVPN should be removed
  • OpenVPN also running in the background
  • Nektony App Cleaner - What? Another cleaner. Not good.
  • Gemini - Nothing good comes from MacPaw apps. Will delete duplicates, even the ones you need.
  • Wipe - Another Ad blocker
  • SetApp - There are many apps installed that belong to what I call the SetApp suite of Malware. These apps are all marketed together with some prompting for you to install another to fix a problem you do not have or provide some benefit you do not need. All these apps install files that run every time you start your computer up. These apps are poorly tested, fail to keep up with OS updates for compatibility, and sometimes conflict with each other.

I am sorry to say, but the Clean Install is going to be the only solution that will get your Mac back to working order and to allow it to operate efficiently. There are some categories of apps that should not be installed on your computer, including:

  • Cleaners
  • Optimizer
  • Anti-Virus
  • VPN

Just a quick look at the report

I would not spend too much time highlighting ALL the Issues appearing in this report

About 90 % are basically and respectfully said, self inflicted ( Software Wise )

Below are just the outstanding ones that catch my eye

You could spend hours or days cleaning up the computer of all the Stuff loaded onto it or >>

You may consider Erasing the Drive and Reinstalling a Fresh Sonoma

Download Only the Needed Applications from the Apple Store or Directly from the Developers

Unsigned files - There are unsigned software files installed that could be malicious and should be reviewed.

  System Integrity Protection disabled - System Integrity Protection is disabled. This computer is at risk of malware infection.

Apple security disabled - Apple security software is disabled. This computer is at risk of malware infection.

More than one antivirus app - This computer has multiple antivirus apps installed.

Unsigned files - There are unsigned software files installed. These files could be old, incompatible, and cause problems. They should be reviewed.

  System modifications - There are a large number of system modifications running in the background.

Configuration Files:

  /etc/hosts - Count: 82

 CleanMyMac X.app

I can't rearrange the system, because I work on this computer, and it takes a lot of time to copy and then install a bunch of programs that I use. Also, there are a lot of valuable files on this disk, not only in the sense of meaning, but also financially. I can disable and uninstall CleanMyMac, but I doubt it will solve the problem.

The problem has become very urgent in recent days. Downloading various materials to external disks has become a real problem. As usual, then the system crashes for some reason. Even though the TechTool scan does not indicate any problems with the disk

Feb 13, 2024 2:09 AM in response to Mac Jim ID

To some extent, I'm disappointed with the experts, this answer is displayed as the best, but unfortunately there are a lot of their own opinions that are not needed to solve the problem and are not supported by any fact-checking.

It's okay to say that I shouldn't have optimizers and cleaners on my computer. To some extent, I agree about CleanMyMac, but if you look at the reviews of this program, they are pretty normal. And I actually need VPN for work.

What was most confusing was this "There are many apps installed that belong to what I call the SetApp suite of Malware. These apps are all marketed together with some prompting for you to install another to fix a problem you do not have or provide some benefit you do not need. All these apps install files that run every time you start your computer up. These apps are poorly tested, fail to keep up with OS updates for compatibility, and sometimes conflict with each other." You say that SetApps are viruses, ads, etc., but I have a question for you - have you ever launched SetApp and do you understand what it is?

1. SetApp is like the AppStore, but with a subscription model. That is, the programs you see in SetApp can be found outside of it.

2. I haven't seen any ads in six months, if you open setapp, it may offer to leave a review about one of its programs, but it doesn't tell me to buy this or that. setapp notifies you of new programs in its store and that's normal.

3. If you look at etercheck, you will not see the launch files for each program from setapp.

I also don't know why everyone is picking on the programs, but the problem is different. The problem is that some component did not receive a response within 90 seconds. The response comes primarily from the hard disk. Therefore, it would be logical to look in this direction, that at some point the disk is simply drained due to the number of requests. If you use App Tamer, you can see when the process goes overboard, and this is how I found one of the parasites. This is the EdgeThumbnail process from EdgeView programs. It started analyzing any unpacked archive. I limited the resources of this process and basically closed the program. There were fewer reboots.

If I walk into the doctor's office in a down coat with a hot water bottle strapped to my chest and tell my doctor I feel hot and feverish, the doctor is going to suggest I take off the coat and remove the hot water bottle and wait a bit to see if I feel better. If I don't, they would then take my temperature and explore other reasons I might feel hot. The point is, until you get rid of other factors, things like CMM, and turn off the VPNs, you can't properly test the hardware issues.

Feb 16, 2024 11:28 AM in response to chaOSx

Most likely, I solved the problem and the problem was not in the programs, unfortunately for all the "experts".

My system has been migrating since my mac mini 2014 which had 16gb.

I transferred it to an external disk using carbon copy cloner and even on that mac I lived like that.

When I bought a new one, I did the same thing, but on a larger and faster disk.

Recently, I transferred it again to a 4TB disk faster than the original in a mac mini 2018.

And the problem was in the parameters

kern.vm_page_free_min=16000

kern.vm_page_free_target=32000

kern.vm_page_free_reserved=8000

vm.vm_page_background_target=48000

Which were most likely written for a machine with 16GB of RAM. I set the values from the example above and have not seen restarts for 2 days. I started digging in this direction, as I saw 29GB of 32GB of compressed memory.

I thank myself that I did not think of demolishing the system to the ground)
