Status icon blue with a cable connection symbol on the right side to the left of signal strength

A status icon came up that I can’t seem to find out what it means . It’s not listed on any Apple site I have access to nor does it come up in my search’s. I have an idea what it might be but would rather just be sure

You are quite correct. The iPad User Guide does not illustrate or provide explanation for this status-icon - but I can 🙂


This icon indicates that you have a USB device connected to your iPad's USB-C port. By example, my iPad Pro M1 (illustrated here) is connected to a USB-C hub:
