Setting up a recovery key on iPhone

my cell phone cautions about setting up a recovery key"if you lose your recovery key and cant access your devices apple cant help reqain access to your account or data". Does this mean I cant use my computer to get back the account or data?

If your computer is signed into the same Apple ID as your phone, then it is a Trusted Device and you can use that to reset your password if you lose your recovery key. In any case, you will want to write down your recovery key and store it in a safe place if you choose to use that option. That is the single most important thing you can do.
