MAC beginner/slow training

Years in the DOS and Windows world has made it very difficult for me to continue my computer skills in the Apple world. I am a Disabled Veteran these days and my trying skills are not what they use to be. Not sure how or what to ask for, like I need one of those antique Dummy Books. In the classroom my damaged memory functions like the RAM use to work, works great until new data must be received. I did a beginner class before but could not keep up and did not make progress. I went Apple Computer to upgrade my family videos and general computer usage is all I've been able to accomplish. Don't really know the proper question or where to go for this help so I would appreciate some, any and all the help possible.

First off, from one (retired) vet to another, thank you for your service!

There are books available on Amazon that can help with moving from Windows to Macs...you can probably get a lot out of one or two of those.

There are also free training classes offered by Apple Stores...you can check your local store's website for class schedules...but I do recall there's a class on getting familiar with your new Mac.

And, of course, Apple has put User Guides online that you can bookmark: macOS User Guide - Apple Support

Hope this helps.
