Whenever I open my MacBook Air m1 certain apps that I usually keep running in the background always automatically open a window when I wake my MacBook. I was wondering if this is normal and if there is a way to turn it off.

Yes that is normal. Unless you UNcheck the dialog to open apps you do not quit when shutting down, they will open.
Thanks, but I'm not talking about shutting it down. I mean whenever the laptop goes to sleep or I close it, whenever I open it some of the apps I don't quit always open.
What apps are those specifically? Apple or third party?
