You should be able to see all the AirPlay receiving capable devices that are on the same home network (/subnet).
- If both devices are on Wi-Fi, then verify that they both use the exact same SSID network name. Verify that your router or access point isn’t using multiple SSID network names (unless you’re an expert).
- If one device is on ethernet and the other on Wi-Fi, then verify that the router combines both types into one logical network.
- If trying to use AirPlay from mobile, then verify it connects to the home network; it won’t work on cellular.
The Apple TV has to be registered and activated with an Apple ID, for it to work with AirPlay.
On the Apple TV box, AirPlay has an on|off setting in Settings﹥AirPlay﹥.
