Noticeable Drop in Bass Quality Post Sonoma Update: MacBook Pro 6-Speaker Setup

Hello Everyone,

I recently upgraded my MacBook Pro's(2023 MBP m3 chip) operating system to the latest Sonoma version and couldn't help but notice a significant drop in bass quality, particularly with the 6-speaker setup. Prior to the update, I was using the Ventura version without any issues regarding bass performance.

While the overall sound quality remains satisfactory, there's a noticeable decline in the depth and richness of bass tones that I used to enjoy with the Ventura setup. I've tried adjusting settings and configurations, but haven't been able to restore the bass to its previous level.

Is anyone else experiencing a similar issue with their MacBook Pro's sound quality after updating to the Sonoma version? It's perplexing to see such a disparity in bass performance between the two versions, especially considering the premium quality associated with MacBook Pro's audio capabilities.

I'd appreciate any insights, suggestions, or shared experiences regarding this matter.

Thank you for your attention and assistance.

I know nothing of your setup or what application may be involved here...(?)

if third party is involved— I would if in doubt search the developers website or contact their: Support/Help/FAQ/Known issues/compatibility/updates…

The issue is not with the third-party software, and it's not a customized setup. Following the release of the MacBook Pro M2 Pro model, all the latest models come with six speakers in the MacBook. Among them, mine is a MacBook Pro with the M3 chip.

I'm encountering this problem specifically in Apple's Safari browser when watching YouTube videos. After the Sonoma update, models with m3 chip were mistakenly launched with Ventura. However, upon upgrading to Sonoma, I've noticed this issue with the Safari browser.

Interestingly, other third-party browsers are performing better than Safari in terms of sound quality post the last update. Apart from that, performance-wise, it's good.
