trying to sync a livescribe Echo SmartPen with macOS 12.7.3

Hi, I'm trying to get an Echo smartpen to work with macOS 12.7.3, but it keeps failing every single time I try to run the Echo Desktop Software. Upon further research using the Terminal, I determined that there's some kind of an error connecting to the device that I can't quite understand. I need this pen for my college classes, and it worked fine in december, so I'm wondering what exactly changed between then and now?

Anyone know a workaround for this error code? I know that if I were to get a Silicon based Mac, the pen will no longer work, but it is supposed to work on an intel based Mac, and I can't figure out why I'm having so many issues. Thanks!
