A continuously flashing status light (longer than ~15 seconds) is a sign of failure to start up properly.
First please try a temporary disconnect from power. It should then attempt to start up again.
If the issue persist, then the system software may need to be restored externally. For the 4K models, users can’t do this themselves, unfortunately. Please contact Apple for assistance.
