Reminders app not syncing properly

Since downloading the latest update (IOS 17) I have been having an issue with the reminders app. It is not syncing correctly and now everytime I add a reminder and complete it, it does not stay completed. It will go away for a second and come back as if it still needs to be checked. The only way to get rid of it now it to delete it, which is not ideal. Any idea on how to fix it?
