safety of connecting my pc to my icloud account

Use my iCloud mail on my pc. Software on my pc asks if I want to sync all apple devices to pc. Have anti-virus but concerned about security of my apple devices if connected to a pc. Wondering if this is a real issue or not?

My version of Outlook is Version 16.86.2 and when I click on the Outlook app in the AppStore it just open my Outlook up. Don't want to not be able to access my Outlook emails.
