Scanning with Xerox Phaser 6180MFP to new iMac with Sonoma 14.3.1

I have been trying to get my existing Xerox Phazer 6180 MFP to scan to my new iMac. I recently upgraded to Sonoma hoping that would help my issue with no results.. Any work arounds that are known? I have owned the Phaser since new and have never had any problems printing with any software upgrades on my MacBook Pro, but never used it to receive scans as I had a windows desktop that we used for business for that. Business sold and trying to consolidate.

iMac 24″, macOS 14.3

This Xerox scanner was last supported with drivers for macOS 10.10 and 10.11 in August 2015. Unless you have access to Windows 10 or 11, Xerox provides no newer drivers for any release of macOS (for this scanner) and those 2015 drivers are unlikely to be functional in macOS Sonoma — 9 years later.

This Xerox scanner is not supported by the paid VueScan Professional, nor by Apple's built-in AirPrint.

The Xerox recommended replacement device for the Phaser 6180 MFP is the VersaLink C415 which does have Xerox Sonoma drivers.

Well, yes you can obtain a separate scanner and I would highly recommend considering VueScan Professional with a scanner/document feeder that it supports without any scanner vendor driver requirement.

I have no experience with document feeders on scanners, so consider one that is a current model that does what you want it to do and then verify it is supported by VueScan without any vendor driver requirement. If you are happy with the Xerox product line, that VueScan link above shows the currently supported Xerox scanners.

VueScan supports over 7000 scanners so you are not restricted to just Xerox support.

That you for the info. So what do I do now... I have a perfectly functioning printer with all the bells and whistles we need. I'd hate to scrap it and buy something of lesser functionality. Should I go out and buy a decent scanner with a document feeder. If so, anything you'd care to recommend that is compatible with my iMac?
