How to sync my contacts and messages on my iPhone and iPad?

Have a iPhone 14 and iPad.

when I enter a new contact on my iPhone, and send a text, the reply is only to my iPad. How do I sync the two? Thanks.

Please, please ignore the AI-generated nonsense above.

On your iPhone, go to Settings>Messages>Send & Receive and make sure that your mobile number is ticked under both "You can receive iMessages to and reply from" and "Start New Conversations from".

If that doesn't resolve the issue post back.

It sounds like you may have iMessage forwarding enabled on your iPad, which is causing replies to your iPhone messages to be sent to your iPad instead. Here's how you can disable iMessage forwarding and ensure that messages are sent and received on your iPhone:

1. On your iPad: Open the Settings app.

2. Scroll down and tap on "Messages."

3. In the Messages settings, look for the option labeled "Text Message Forwarding" or "Send & Receive."

4. Tap on "Text Message Forwarding" or "Send & Receive" to view the devices linked to your Apple ID for iMessage.

5. Toggle off the switch next to your iPad to disable text message forwarding.

By disabling text message forwarding on your iPad, you should receive replies to your iPhone messages directly on your iPhone rather than on your iPad.

If you're still experiencing issues with message syncing between your iPhone and iPad after disabling text message forwarding, there may be other settings or configurations affecting message delivery. In that case, I recommend checking the settings on both devices to ensure they're set up correctly for iMessage and SMS/MMS messaging.

If the issue persists, you may also consider signing out of your Apple ID on both devices and then signing back in to ensure proper synchronization. Additionally, restarting both devices can sometimes help resolve syncing issues.

There is no such setting on an iPad.

As you can't enable text message forwarding on your iPad, you can't disable it.

iPads are not capable of SMS/MMS messaging.
