If you're encountering the message "iPhone is unavailable" on your iPhone 8 and you're unable to restart it, here are some steps you can try to address this issue:

1. Force Restart: To force restart an iPhone 8, follow these steps:

   - Press and quickly release the Volume Up button.

   - Press and quickly release the Volume Down button.

   - Press and hold the Side button until you see the Apple logo.

2. Connect to iTunes: If the force restart doesn't work and your iPhone is showing as unavailable, you can try connecting your iPhone to a computer with iTunes installed.

   - Connect your iPhone to the computer using a USB cable.

   - Open iTunes (or Finder on macOS Catalina and later).

   - Follow the on-screen instructions to restore or update your iPhone.

3. Check Power Connection: Ensure that your iPhone is charged or connected to a power source. A depleted battery might cause the device to not respond.

4. DFU Mode: If the above steps don't work, you can try putting your iPhone 8 into DFU (Device Firmware Update) mode and then connecting it to iTunes for a restore. This is a bit more advanced, so you might want to look up a tutorial specific to your situation.

5. Contact Apple Support: If none of the above solutions help in resolving the issue of an unavailable iPhone 8, reaching out to Apple Support for more personalized assistance would be the next best step.
